Screen Help; flickering video/fuzzy audio

Right so I'm actually trying to make something for once (thanks to Metallica Man X's yobo pinouts). I currently need some help with some screen issues.


I'm still using the power adapter from the yobo; just disconnected the audio and video connections from the power board and hooked them up to my tv.

It's pretty wonky so far, the picture is all flickery and distorted

That's about as clear as it got. During gameplay all it does is flicker and the picture scrolls vertically.

Here's how I hooked it up, according to the pinouts in Ben's book.

I circled a spot in red that Ben has wired to something I dont know what/where. Maybe that is my problem?

This is the first thing I've tried to make, ever, so I really don't know a lot about troubleshooting these kinds of things. Hopefully someone here has had the same problem. I'm sure I just missed something that would be blatantly obvious, if I knew what I was doing lol.

Yes, ground! A common connection for audio/video must be made. Connect the ground from your battery/power source to that via that you circled in red. This should solve your picture problems! Good luck.

Skyone posted faster than me. He is correct. You need ground.

once you connect ground, tell me how good picture quality is.

I wired it to ground on the system (circled photo) and while it's a lot better but still not perfect yet, but good enough where I can move on to more important things like wiring everything together to run on the same power source (hopefully the yobo can run off of 4 batteries haha).

I'll go over my wiring since its prolly just a bad connection from here. Guess I can make a build thread now, I'll post updated pictures in there

I'm going to hazard a guess that your problem is noise, coming from somewhere, somehow.
