I've always wanted to put a cell phone in a controller of some sort.

Make it into a Rock Band Or Guitar Hero controller.

Or make it into a PC joystick for PC Video games and PC Music Games.

MAME controller.

Strip open a USB keyboard, attach the buttons from the controller to it, assign the buttons via MAME to use. The four buttons on the grip would be good action buttons, you have a joystick; the top buttons can be for things like pause, start, etc.

That would be quite difficult, you'd have to figure out the matrix of both the keyboard and the keypad on the Coleco controller and match them up somehow.
