PS1 Screen power?

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

PS1 Screen power?

Post by humanman42 »

i am trying to mod a PS1 screen into my xbox, usings its video and audo signals, and its power. the thing is that the power i am gunna get is 12v. the screen (from what i have seen) is 7.5.

can i run the screen with that voltage without that much risk?
do the speekers run of the power i give through that 7.5 streem (i saw 5v somewhere also)?
and can i replace the speekers on the screen? if so what wattage can they be?

Use the search. 5V is for HipGear screens.

The screen turn fuzzy at around 9V or more. You should use a 7808 connected to the 12V line (or try and directly tap the 2 7805 outputs to the 5V line of the xbox.)
