Size Comparison of all major N64ps

Post by jjhammerstein »

I'll be drawing ALL of the major portables in scale, because we ALL know how important it is to know that guys like to measure their toys. So, if yours isn't up here there are a few reasons why it might not be:
1- I haven't gotten around to it yet
2- I can't find a good picture of it.
Good pictures are orthographic, straight from the front or side.

The ones I have planned initially are:
SifuF's
Mario's
L64
SS#6
Ben's
Darth 64

bold= done
Post pictures in this thread, leave comments etc.
This will be slightly ongoing, or as long as it takes.

Here's the first batch:

I realize some of the lines are bumpier than I wish they were, this is because I'm not tracing them by hand. I'm selecting them from their background and creating a border to trace that. I smooth as much as I can, but it's hard to do without losing detail.

I can make them just links, if need be.

Nice, I bet when you get more of them and put names on it then this thread will be stickied. It's kind of hard to tell which is the smallest n64p because sifufs doesn't have internal batteries.

Go off of the screen size, as they are both the same thing.

Hey, i didn't mean to stop you, i was just giving you recommendations:
If you took the real pictures of the portables that people have posted and took the diagnols of the screens then you could give all of the pics a common ratio and resize for each.
Man, that actually does sound kind of complicated, now that i suggested it. Sorry. :P
Also, I am perfect, thank you for recognizing it.
(BTW your MS paint job is probably better than mine ever would just because i hate the damn program. It hates me back.)

I already did do that anyway.
These are traced directly from pictures that have been distorted from their viewing angles to have matching screens.
I'm using Photoshop 7.0, which I like better than CS3.

Put up Ben's N64p.
It was a huge pain.
It was from a really big viewing angle, and the picture was tiny to begin with.
I improvised. Worked out well.

Ah, I see. So you are not going off measurements, you are going off pics and using the screen as a reference point?

How hard would it be to make a thickness comparison using the dimensions figures? Not a pro here with PhotoShop, not sure if it would be a lot of work. It makes a big difference, the thickness; Some are very small, but very thich, and some are longer, but thin.

Nice job!

Yay, mine's in there! And it's the second-smallest! Technically the smallest complete portable, as it has internal batteries. It's also the first to have a theme and the first Zelda themed. :)

ShockSlayer made one with green paint and a TriForce logo LONG ago, before you even registered.

Cannot link because search is still broken.

I know you're joking because I've been chatting with ShockSlayer throughout the whole project, and plus that's way too specific. :P
