GBA blinking problem?

Post by themadhacker »

My friend wanted me to fix is old model GBA. He said his brother dropped it, which shattered the screen. So I take the gba home to replace the screen, but when I turn it on the red light blinks and turns off. I did this before I replaced the screen too, with old batteries and it would do the same thing. New batteries have no other affect either. So could the problem be a dry cap or something? I checked all connections and can't find anything loose.

Something is overloading the power management circuits and it's shutting itself off, just like the GBC. Check for shorts or anything that might be demanding too much power.
