Best size wire?

Post by thewise1 »

I was thinking 30 gauge wire for my portable n64 project, but I'm not sure if that's the perfect size.

I want a cable that's flexible and small, but sturdy.

What's the best kind for portable n64?

Depends what type of wiring you're talking about. You might want to use a lower gauge for your power wires (~20 AWG), but a thinner gauge will be useful in wiring cart slot, expansion pack, etc.

28 gauge ribbon is the standard for anything that's not power-related. Sometime 30 gauge Kynar is used for slot relocations.

30 gauge is good but for some things it is a tad too small. I would get a spool of 30 gauge and a spool of bigger wire
