Nope, your stuck, unless you wire it directly. ER is working on a solution to this, but it won't be done anytime soon...

I thought using a SDgeko, and SDLoad ( i think) made by emu_kidd you can boot .iso files off of a SD card. Been a little while since i used my geko, but i can boot .dols off i, and i think .iso booting was possible. Don't quote me on this tho, but could be a good soloution.

Scrap that. SD-Boot will only load iso's when the disk is in too.
I was getting my hopes up that i could get arid of the disk drive, in favour of the geko. Hurry up ER haha

I have sd-boot on my portable
here you have a little description
http://www.tehskeen.com/forums/showpost.php?p=33324
btw, I saw this app, and it's need check a original disc is inside the DD, so it may be useless for this.
games also freeze, slowdown and crash , all of those if you are lucky and them boot
the compatibility list is really low.
if you dont want to plug the DD, you probably will need a smaller replacement, like electric rain´s drive or something like this

(anyway this one maybe has not relased to public yet)
