I also posted this in the book section, if I'm not supposed to do that I'm sorry, anyways...
I just got Ben's book for Christmas, and am putting together my first ever portable. I am really excited, and was able to buy all of the radioshack parts right at the store. However, when I went to digikey, per the book's instructions, I was not able to purchase:
A tact switch, part # CKN9018-ND
A 28mm Speaker, part # P10174-ND
They both seemed to be out of stock, and I really have no idea what to get, or where to go to get these parts. If anyone could offer advice on similar parts, or alternate locations where I can buy these particular parts, that would be awesome.

1. Don't use tact switches. They're horrible. Just chop up the controller and use those boards. There should be instructions around here somewhere.
2. You're using a PS1 screen, right? The speakers in it should work OK.
On a side note there's a kind of really cool sort of tact switch.

That's opinion. I personally love tact switches.XCVG wrote:1. Don't use tact switches. They're horrible.
They feel very solid, I think. You know for a fact the buttons is pushed. And for a beginner, tacts are the way to go. Easier to deal with.
Good luck. As for speakers, don't worry about them. If you use a PSone screen the speakers it has with it will work just fine.
By the way. Welcome to BenHeck.
