Hello, I am an avid lurker of this forum and my inspiration has gotten to the point where I feel the urge to ask you guys a question. My question is it possible to use a wireless Xbox 360 Controller on an MCU, say an Arduino, Picaxe, or SOR's Axon. This has been done numerous of times with both the wireless and wired PS2 and Gamecube controllers, with documentation, but I am very eager to get this to work. How do I go about doing this? I was thinking, since I couldnt connect the Gaming receiver stripped USB wire to my MCU, I would go about this pseudoschematic:
2.4GHz Wireless Controller -> Wireless Gaming Receiver -> Laptop -> Bluetooth Dongle, XBee, or Zigbee -> BlueSMIRF, Zigbee or Xbee receiver -> MCU -> Actuators
I was thinking of using the popular communication software, Hyperterminal, a branch of HyperACCESS to take the readings of my xbox controller, convert it to a language the MCU can understand (C++, BASIC, or C, depending on the MCU), and send that to the MCU there.
Is there a more effecient way of doing this, I need suggestions. Please and Thanks.
