A smaller die for the GPU, leading to lower heat and power usage. That's all I've been able to figure out at least.

The GPU is made of a 65nm process instead of a 90nm process. Smaller processor die = less heat output. (One reason the Core 2 Duo processors run cooler and faster than Pentium 4s.)

After having so many PS2s break on me, I decided to hold off on buying a 360 until the hardware was solid.. looks like its getting there. Failure rates seem to be down with the Falcon, and now the Jasper is another step in the right direction. I may seriously consider getting sometime next year.

Im glad the"power suckage rate" has dropped too.

Are the Arcade model 360's the only Jaspers available right now?

I need a replacement Ultimate but only want the Jasper.

Thanks,

Yes, so far they've only been found in Arcades.

My personal XBox is actually a Falcon Arcade that I just slapped a 120 gig gray drive on. I don't like the silver disc tray things on the other units.

I have had my PS2 run for a week straight, no power off when I was playing because I couldn't save.
How do you fry them?

It's easy! Throw one in a pan, drench it in oil, and turn the stove on! Yeah, I really have no idea. My PS2 is probably my sturdiest system. My first GameCube stopped reading disks, my first Wii's Graphics card failed... Only other system I havent had trouble with is my 360, but I'm not gonna jinx it.

Not that this is what most people around here care about, but isn't it impossible to run Linux on the Jasper? Or was it impossible already on the Falcon?
(If you didn't even know Linux runs on X360, please refrain from replying to this.)
