Ribbon Cables

Post by bicostp »

There's a guy in Playstation 1 32 bit asking "Why can't I use harddrive wire in a portable". Apparently the book says you can't. I have re-built several machines for my school, and all hard drive ribbon wire is is a bunch of wires glued together. Is there some other reason why you can't use it in a game system?

SIDE NOTE: Holy carp! It's noon and I'm the newest post name on most of the forums! Weird...

Um, hardrive cable is used very heavily in the book. Like Jack said, you just have to use a standard data cable, which has 40 wires. The new kind has 80 wires, but they are really thin.

Sorry. I only skimmed the book in Borders. I would have gotten it, but gasoline takes first priority.

I'd drive to work to get money to get the gas and the book. (It's raining up here this week.) :-(
