avatar problems

Every time I try to update my (nonexistent) avatar I get the same error *Url not valid* . Ever since I accidentally added a very large avatar I have not been able to have an avatar. any help is appreciated.

Your BBcode/avatar permissions were probably revoked by an admin. PM Sparkfist about this.

As far as I'm aware 'avatar permissions' cannot be revoked.

Can you post the link to the image you are trying to add?

Try adding some random image, then click the delete checkbox. That might fix it. Just make sure that the random image isn't inappropriate or too big. I recommend this image for the purpose.

Edit: Wacked image URL. Updated it. It goes to an empty pixel.

Actually, they can be revoked; it's a simple Yes/No radio button in the admin control panel.

However, this isn't your problem.

Try uploading your avatar to ImageShack and copying the direct link. If you're trying to link to a web page, it won't work.

EDIT: I just pasted a stand-in avatar that's usually used when people put in wallpaper-size avatars, and it worked. Are you sure you aren't pasting the image viewer PHP page?

Great to hear that you got your avatar up and running. I'd like to advise you know that you please keep any avatars under 150 pixels wide. It become a problem for the viewing the boards past that.
