Snes usb controller?

Post by eurddrue »

I was wondering if I could cut off a snes plug and just solder on a usb plug. would this work or would I have to do an unnecesary amount of work and programming for a birthday present?

Simple answer, no it won't work. Buy a pre-made converter.

umm, maybe? I don't know what that is... :? I was going to put an emulator and some games on a flash drive and give him the snes usb controllers, but now I have no freaking Idea what to get him. any suggestions :?:

a parallel port is the long 25 pin connector in the back of computers that used to hook up to printers before they switched over to USB. There are some simple guides out there that can convert an SNES controller into a PC controller through the parallel port. I personally built a 5-controller SNES -> PC adaptor.
