I was just wondering if it would be possible to make a gdrom emulator or if you would have to mod the firmware of every cd drive you wanted to read gd-roms with.
If you don't really understand what I'm talking about, I think the yamaha 400 cd drive has hacked firmware that allows it to read gd-roms.
thanks

The cdr400t firmware is a hoax, I tested. THe firmware actually sais your drive is a gd-r 1999 but you can't read anything, more info there: http://dcemulation.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=95197
However if you don,t mind translating from french to english, here's a guide on how to rip dc games with a ltd-165h dvd drive, using a little swap trick: http://dreamagain.free.fr/layout.php?p=tutoGD
Note that these infos should only be used to rip the games you own in order to preserve games even if the media get corrupted, and only if you're allowed to do so by your country's law.
I hope I could answer your questions !
