Helping Hands

Post by Gamelver »

Buy it.

This is an incredibly useful tool, especially for soldering SMT components. The magnifying glass helps solder to really small pins (how do you think I soldered the N64 Advance mobo ;)?) and the alligator clip "hands" keep the board or other components in an easy position to solder to. I wish the joints could be tightened more effectively, because they hold a cut down N64 up fine enough, but it gets knocked down a bit too easily. I'm sure this is an easy enough problem to fix, though; a few rubber pads between the screws tightening the joints should be enough to make it tighter :).

So, again, if you don't already have this, buy it. Ben recommends it in his book, and now I am in his forums. You won't regret it (and Ben says so, too!).
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!
