What are the diferences with the component and VGA cable?360

Hi im new to these forums but I felt I could get much better anwsers here then I would at yahoo anwsers, haha. I am starting a portable 360, and I thought I should tackle the screen job first scince I dont fully understand how they work ,monitors that is.
What pins are used in a vga conection vs the component?
