Your work area

I did a search and there was a thread like this almost two years ago so I figured it is time to have another.

My work area is a converted garage.

The garage used to not have a floor and was tilted 10-20 degrees towards the fence. Not to mention that the roof had a 3 sq foot hole in it. Spent a good part of June fixing it up. Added a pier beam foundation, frame, 5/8" OSB flooring, new roof, doors, redid all electrical.

Most of my tools are second/third hand. Theres no way I could afford new tools (craigslist ftw). I do more then build portables. Built furniture, sailboat parts, and stairs to mention a few...

So where do yall build stuff at?

my work space is any free space i can find in my apt. it used to be my dining room table, but it's too covered with project stuff now... i really need to clean and reorganize...

i have 2 4 switch 2600s a beat up 7800 and a MINT (still in plastic, styrofoam and box) 7800 as well. my workspace is either the spare room upstairs, which is a TOTAL TRAINWRECK of a mess that desperately needs cleaned, or my prefered spot - the kitchen counter!

its elevated,well lit, usually not cluttered until i take it over lol, i keep the majorty of my parts and tools in vintage sylvania TV parts caddy so moving around isnt a big deal

My project room - a converted bedroom.

It is a mess, a typical project room!

Filing cabinet has wires, components like dead boards from computers, etc to salvage components from, etc; an old computer in case I need a fourth computer, fan (while soldering), tools (most out of view in pic), lots of compartments full of lots of bits and bobs, multi-platform project (top right of pic, out of way whilst doing current system; which is left middle of pic).

Further in room, boy, untidy! In the box are a stack of consoles and controls for next multi-platform systems - box is heavy and full. Stack of controllers in blue box; pending projects scattered (various and many); some of the hundreds of games I have. Really untidy, I have a clear out every so often!

Two desktop computers (share same monitor and keyboard) and a laptop, more clutter.

Place gets cluttered very quickly indeed, quite untidy at the moment!!

When I finish my Mini Multi-Platform System project, before getting back to the Multi-Platform System Project (and others) I will get most of the clutter cleared!!

Uhhh... let's just say I'm extremely organized (or maybe OCD

), so although it may not be evident, this is my workspace. I just clean things compulsively

Here's the left side of my desk (no flash, as it reflects off of street signs

)

^ I must also point out my awesome new EeePC 901, I love it!

And here's the right side:

I don't have many tools besides the basics, soldering iron, screwdrivers, etc, but I have a lot of desk space to work with.

I've got you all owned. I have an air-conditioned, heated office space with its own kitchenette. I'll post pics when I get my camera working again. At the moment, there's a harpsichord, the guts of five pianos, three workbenches, a banquet table, and three electric pianos up in there. I've got a path cut through everything, but I plan on having everything organized and put away properly by the end of the month. It's some great digs.

WoWWOWWOWOWOWOWOWOW! stgpepper you just owned my work space. Mine is the the basement floor with a broken chair and an old tv that only has a hook up for an atari. my cousin has a bed down there and we have been remodeling for the last 5 years. it is not clean at all, but it looks nice because my mom threw every thing in a box and fried one of my psone screens.

She offered to buy me a new one though

I will try to get some pics up.

I might have everyone beat on amount of crap thrown all over my workspace. It's one of the most disorganized messes ever.

The weird thing is, I can find whatever I need almost instantly. Because it's all strewn about
