GC wavebird range
Does anyone know the range of a wavebird, and is there any way to extend that range?

I was thinking of making a wireless video interface so I could play both the gamecube and the Wii without being in my living room.
But mainly so I can play Brawl in any room in the house.
I am in the middle of the design phase and this thing is going to be sweet. Once I get the parts I will post pics.

It is going to be quite small, with a 3.5 inch screen or maybe even a 4 inch because anything larger wont fit in the case i am building.
techknott you have done this with a 360, do you have any advice?

Have you chosen a screen yet? This one is expensive, but it's 640x480 (very important!) instead of 320x240 like a lot of modules of this size, and it's a stand-alone module, which means no need to hack up existing casing. It also takes VGA input... I don't know how you can use that in this particular application, but it's pretty cool anyway.

If you hack up a gamecube component cable, you can get it to output VGA/RGB.Electric Rain wrote:Have you chosen a screen yet? No need, I know what you're talking about. I've done plenty of research on it for my GC laptop. The Wii can also output VGA natively. That's great and all, but try finding a decently-priced wireless VGA transmitter/receiver pair.lifeisbetterwithketchup wrote:If you hack up a gamecube component cable, you can get it to output VGA/RGB.Electric Rain wrote:Have you chosen a screen yet? Check the frequency of the wavebird and the transmitter you plan to buy. Keep them as far apart as you can(about 1ghz). Also, try to get one for possible for rgb;))Dark Lord wrote:It is going to be quite small, with a 3.5 inch screen or maybe even a 4 inch because anything larger wont fit in the case i am building.
