LED Question

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

You'll want 3mm diameter LEDs, also referred to as "T1" size. Also look for extremely bright white LEDs. I purchased some from ebay that are supposedly 17,000 mcd (millicandella), and whether they truly are that or not doesn't matter compared to the fact that they're plenty bright enough. I've also used LEDs from a more legitimate online source that were rated at 10,000 mcd that were great as well.

i went to get some today but all the 3mm ones were less then 100 mcd. the 5 mm ones were 10,000mcd so i got 4 of those, will they still work or should i get 3mm ones? and if i have to get 3mm ones instead of 5mm ones do i need any resistors with them aswell?
