Work Logs - Progress pics - Suggestions?
Well, I've been working a lot lately on my portable N64 and I've taken pictures along the way, but not nearly as many as I wanted to. Anyway, I was just wondering, what kinds of pictures do you like to see when looking at progress pics? Like up close detail shots of everything? Or just occasional pics throughout building? Just looking for some discussion. I personally like to see detail about as much as possible. A good example would be some of bacteria's worklogs, like his multi-console system with all the pictures and detail.

Thanks! I think you answered your own question?
There are two extremes - few pics just says "ohh, aren't I clever in making this but I won't tell you how, look at my work in awe" and masses of pics say "see, it isn't a black art, you can do it too, let me show you how". I go for the latter as you know. Lots of pics are informative and speak more than words, the line is drawn when detailing project work by the amount of text, not too much padding (or reader gets bored) and proper grammar and spelling are important otherwise the reader thinks you are an idiot, and also can't follow what you are saying. A good example of this was the link you gave to the site for modding an N64 into a development board - pics good, plenty of them, but spelling, grammar were awful and had such bad syntax that the reader didn't know what he was going on about; what a waste of time!
