I just spent 35 minutes making this. I thought I would share this with you guys as it would be useful to others to have a cheap tripod for taking pics and vids of project development.
I had a mini tripod but it is too small to get good angles to do videos with a camera, so I recycled an old desk light which had a blown bulb, one with a flexible neck. I bought it for £1 from a car boot sale a while back, the bulb to replace cost more than the whole thing!
Mini tripod:
Underside unscrewed:
Removed the bulb facia, cut off the mains cable:
Snipped off the wires, used longer screws to secure the top bit to the light fitting:

Hot glued it to the base:

To make it stronger, I put in some old screws (large ones) and hot glued it all in place, used 2/3 of a hot glue stick to make sure:
I can always put a cover over it if I want to, although there isn't much point as this is functional and not esthetic.
The result is that my camera can swivel at different heights and angles easily and securely.
Total cost, about £3, for the lamp, hot glue, mini tripod camera attachment. Cheap!!
