Alternative to psone screen

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Alternative to psone screen

Post by nuky nuclear »

i am new at creating portables and i have decided to make the hand built SNES. i have noticed that the psone screen is hard to find without paying a lot of money. so i was wondering, is there an alternative screen i can get that will fit in the case? I'm sorry if a post already exists about this i did a search for one but didn't see anything.

Zenith made some screens for last gen systems (xbox and GC, not 100% sure about PS2) and they are exactly the same on the inside as PSone screens. You can get them cheap, I think some people have even gotten them on ebay for as low as $20 shipped.

EDIT: Some sellers also spell it "zennith", like this one.

Ok thank you. this will save me a lot of money. i take it that it doesnt matter what system the screen was made for.

Yep, they'll work on any system, especially for our uses. Some sellers also spell it "zennith", like this one.
