Need help with gaming mouse for left handers

Hi, I'm a left handed gamer who uses a mouse for the left hand. Right now I'm using a Logitech Marble Mouse (Trackball) and for the most part works pretty good. But as I get more and more into the newer games they incorporate the mouse wheel a lot and unfortunately this mouse has none. Also it has only a flat dpi rate of 800 I believe. I've searched for several years now and can not find anything suitable. I've also thought about getting an ambidex gaming mice but I've gotten so used to this trackball over the years I can't seem to adapt.

What I would like to know is if there is anyone out there that can take one of the newest gaming mice and put the guts of that into the shell of the Logitech Marble Mouse. That way it would be the best of both worlds (scroll wheel and high-switchable dpi) for someone like myself.

I think the main feature of "gaming" mice is the placebo effect. The difference between 400 DPI and 'as-high-as-you-can-count" DPI is indiscernible, because 99% of the time the mouse isn't moving slowly enough for that kind of resolution to be an issue. (Not to mention that the cursor or whatever will only move about a pixel at a time anyway, and you're not trying to shoot a virtual dime a virtual mile away.) It's kind of like shooting for sky-high frame rates; persistence of vision works at 30 FPS and your monitor only runs at 60 to 75 hz anyway so what difference does it make?)

They're just regular mice with extra buttons. Go down to Circuit City; they usually have a few on display you can try. Find a comfortable mouse with a few extra buttons and take a couple weeks to get used to it. (It's best to switch cold-turkey.)

Unfortunately I don't know of too many trackballs with scroll wheels. (But scroll wheels do make a hell of a difference for functions like weapon selection. )

High DPI means you can adjust your aim by a few pixels with smaller hand movements. Handy for sniping, so it's not just BS.

Also, you can overclock your USB port polling rate to dramatically increase mouse responsiveness... and reportedly the speed of certain other devices.

Get a Logitech G3, I use my left hand to game too but I am right handed. The G3 is laser, and has side buttons that work for both hands.

Logitech does make a left handed mouse, but it is wireless and that means it fails.

Well, the most important feature I'm looking for is a scroll wheel on my trackball. Only mentioned the DPI because I figured, if your gonna gut a mouse, might as well be a top of the line mouse made for gaming. The laser on the bottom of the mouse and the motion tracking on my trackball are very similar. So making this mod would seem to fit, if only I had the ability to do so myself

Believe me I have tried. I have a few already but I just can't stand using a regular mouse. I like my hand to stay staionary while I use my finger to sping the trackball. Been using these ever since Logitech made them. 8 Years now I think?
