Sound problems on my Audivox LCD.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me why my sound stopped working?
This is the one I have. I opened it up and checked the wires, but nothing was bad, so then I noticed the red wire on the left speaker was ripped apart so I fixed it and wrapped it with electrical tape, and now there is no sound, even when I put in Headpohones, I hear nothing. any tips, or advice? Thanks.

Patience, dude - it's been 12 hours! If someone randomly said to you "My TV has no picture, what's wrong with it" or "My car won't start, what's broken" you'd likely have a blank look on your face.

When the sound stopped working originally did the headphones work? What can you see with the speaker? Can you post a picture? If you supplied more information you might get more cooperation.

The headphones don't work. The speakers look normal. But this is what made it even weirder, when I was plugging in my A/V jack, back and forth, the speakers were making sounds like they was working, but then they would stop when the Jack was all they way inserted.....?

When a device has speakers and a headphone jack the output goes to one or the other but not both. I'm not sure how this is accomplished, but whatever controls this may be constantly thinking that the headphones are plugged in... and yet it they're still open or something.

Check the traces for the audio very closely. There may be a crack, wear spot, or broken solder joint. Not sure what else to tell you.

Sounds like the cable's pinout isn't the same as the screen's. Have you tried playing a DVD in it?

I fixed it. The A/V cord I was using wasn't outputting my Audio so I made my own A/V cord and it's perfect now. I dont use the DVD player, I use the LCd for my Slimbox. I have it mounted to the wall over my bed so I can play games from my HDD or watch DVD's at night.
