Missing Components on PS2 board

Post by codl07 »

Hello! I have a slight problem... I had a ps2 board that I was going to put into my portable. It was out of a non working ps2 i got from a friend. Well, it did not power on so i threw it my pile of other non-working console and computer parts. Some time later I was looking on the net and found out that these things have at least a dozen little surface mounted fuses on them. I found out one of the fuses was blown so I took care of that. I tried to power it on but alas... nothing. Then I looked along the edge of the board and saw that there was a pin that looked like it came off of some type of component (i'm thinking a capacitor or something). There are 4 spots where something was soldered there at some point but i don't know what.

I have pictures but they are blurry because I took them with my phone:

Any help would be appreciated

have you searched under the board model number? ... You'll more than likely find pics that way.

Alternatively search for mod chip install diagrams under your board model number, for close up shots.
