Perhaps "estimated annual units", which is what you usually have to answer when you get samples.

So they are probably looking for something like "500 per year".

Ask them if they have any vendors that sell individual units.

I had this idea a while ago too. I contacted them about it a while ago, but I didn't think I'd be able to scrounge up enough money.

I wish you luck, though! I don't have any money to donate, but hopefully I'll be able to buy one off of one of you guys that end up getting in 50 of them.

I've been interested in swapping out the backlighting on a GameGear (in an attempt to make the batteries last longer), and this seems like an interesting option.

I'm interested in the broadest terms.

I'm also interested in back lighting my Game Boy Pocket.

And of course I have the same desire of portablization most everyone here has.

None of this will probably be very viable to me until I get real employment, but I'll get back to you.

A budget option might be to find a broken GBA SP. You can probably pick the backlight off the screen and fit into a GBA/C.

This is an investment. All investments have risks. A picture and video of a sample unit back-lighting a screen would scrounge up significantly more interest, due to the significantly less amount of risk.

Well you would get the amount of back lights you paid for to do whatever with, but I am still waiting for a reply with how much each single one is. The minimum would be enough to buy one backlight I guess.
