PSOne PSU burnt

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

PSOne PSU burnt

Well, just typical, a minute or two after i decided on getting a PS2, or PSX to make protable, i fried my Ps1 PSU, or power supply unit..

The other day I was measuring the voltages out from the psu, and just trying to figure out just what pins 3 and 5 are, (counting from brown). I found what appeared to be a voltage regulator (although on the wrong side of the "~transformer"), so I measured at it's connectors, 1st and 3rd pin; nu current, 1st and 2nd; *BZZZZT* and the led went off. The fuse had done it's thing and i thought that it was because of that it did not power on. Bought some fuses, (same specs) and tried.... nothing. It's officially dead. Do not try this at home... >.<

The question essentially is; what are the voltages of the PSU output 1-2 and 1-4 are 7.2v, but the others..?

Suggestions on building something to get the correct voltages are greatly appreciated, i can probably use one or two thing off the psu still. For now i'm guessing that the 3rd pin is 4.x volts and the last unused or for something else, with only a weak current.

Also if anyone has got a descent analog monitor for about $200 or less I'd probably be interested in that, preferably in Europe...

Your are right...
You should give only that amount of voltage in to ps2 console mate...

Not sure about what you're saying... Are you telling me they need all that crap to get two 7.2 volt currents to the mobo?

In another thread i found that:
1. Brown 8 volts (7.2?)
2. Red GND
3. Orange 3.5 volts
4. Yellow GND
5. White Reset (3 V when on, 0 V when off)

Now I'll just get a couple of voltage regulators and a battery. :)
