Can you help suggest me a career?

So my parents wont ST*U about how I need to go to collage or I am going to be working at a grocery store all my life if I don't go right now and bla bla bla...

I have a GED so I dunno how difficult that will make things.

So anyway I can't think of any specific job I would be good at, or want to do.

My skills are
-I know how to use/build a computer
-I can put things together like there is no tomorrow. (good since of accomplishment)
-I can fix stuff and find it fun. (I like the since of accomplishment I get when I fix something)

What I want in a job
-5-6 figures a year (money FTW)
-Little to no interaction with "customers/clients" I do not mind talking to co-workers and that stuff. I hate putting up with peoples "crap" and never know what to say to people.
-Does not take more then 2 years of schooling to get into. I freaking hate school and I am bad at it. I don't know how to study and always forget to do homework. It is a wonder I get my GED.
-Being able to see that I actually did something helps motivate me.

Someone suggested watch repair, but that usually means putting up with peoples crap. >_< Also those parts are tiny. So I was thinking of something in a factory, warehouse, or other place that would need maintenance on machinery, can you guy's think of anything for me?

Yeeeaaaah. Let me know when you find a place like that. I've been looking for years. In fact, I'm in a "career" job now, and I made more per year working part-time at a hardware store.

A lot of factory/machinery maintenance jobs require engineering degrees or mechanical certifications, which means schooling. You'd probably be able to find a janitorial or custodial position at a school or hospital or something.

As for putting up with peoples' crap, I hate to say it, but welcome to life. You're never going to make everyone happy, and someone's always going to rip you a new one for something. Find a good catharsis now because you'll be relying on it for the rest of your life.

my college (indian hills community college in ottumwa IA) has one of the best technical/AAS programs in the country in Lasers/optics, Robotics/Automation technology and Electronics/telecomunications. its a 2 year program for an AAS degree, almost 100% job placement pretty much anywhere in the country you want and a starting salary of anywhere in the upper 30 to low 60 thousand per year range. Its the program I am in currently (im in the core) but wont be for long because i have other plans but the teachers are great and its a fantastic program to go into and its cheap as hell as far as college is concerned, the whole 21 months is under 20 grand and you are probably eligable for grants and loans that will pay for over half of it

robotics sounds nice. but u think should be an it tech b/c u can build and work on computers just to start off and try to get a degree. once i get out of military hopefully with computer science degree im gonna be going in the computer career field

30-60k = $30,000-$60,000 and if you havent noticed that is 5 figures.

Not if you learned from the cheap master like I did. My dad is so cheap that birds fly over our house and go CHEAP CHEAP!

before me and my sister both got jobs our family of four was living on <25,000 a year and that 25k or less covered health insurance auto insruance(on up to 4 cars) house payments food utilities etc! living cheap is not as hard as people seem to make it out to be, main reasons for debt is relying too much on credit, buying new vehicles (20-50k on a car that will be worth less than half its value after 5 years and worth a few thousand at most after ten PASS THX) going into debt buying a house (you DONT NEED a 3000 square foot house for 2 people!) and just not being very smart with how they spend (bigscreen TV brand spankin new computer all new furniture etc) for less than a lot of people spend on cars i am going to have my own building and be running my own buisness out of it and also living there!

i live in southeast iowa (pretty economically depressed and relativly poor) so a little money goes farther here than say california or a big city but i know people living decently on under fifteen thousand a year

Sounds like you want to win the lottery without even getting a ticket. 6 figures? There is no legal job that I know of that you start out making 6 figures without going to at least 4 years of schooling after high school.

Really, get a job at some fast food place or somewhere like Walmart. You have to start somewhere. Plus, it'll help your people skills. And if you're living at home, theres no rent, so you can save a lot of the money you make. Then look into some schooling. No offense, but your skills are also easily found in people in third world countries, and will work for probably 3 figures a year.

That said, I need to get a job. I'll probably be a custodian at a school.

I don't even need to read any of the replies. You won't get many serious suggestions because they're pointless. Only you can pick a career for yourself.
