Trouble Updating to 3.80m33 and 3.90m33

Just as the title says, I cant get my psp to update from 3.71m33 to either 3.80m33 or 3.90m33

I downloaded the updater and the sony update, renamed the sony updates to 380.pbp and 390.psp, respectively. Put them into PSP/GAME/UPDATE. Then when I click on the updater on the psp, it goes to the splash screen as it is supposed to then the psp turns off. Ive tried it with two different working memory sticks and I get the same thing.

Any ides on whats messed up?

Nevermind, I got it now. The kernel cant be set at 1.50
