Gamecube portable -- but wait

Well, I was just browsing the tubes the other day when inspiration struck. Why not make a camecube flat like

but also pop that into a case and have the disk below the LCD, making it easy to switch disks without being too big.

Thoughts? I'll try and MS paint it later, for now, sleep.

Generally, the damn laser is far too fat to do much with it, but I understand where you're going with it, and I think it'll work great!

It was spinout that posted it, its spinout's picture.

I think having the disc sticking out the back (with a cover if you want) would be best if you flatten it. Since the drive is the thickest part, you'll want to try to not stack anything above/below it so that you keep the size down.

Yeah, I had forgotten who's picture that was, thanks for reminding me. It was in one of my tabs for a long time, so I took a look, then later that day inspiration struck.

I'll probably not get much done for a bit, I have another project going right now, spy blimp, I'll post about it somewhere here. If anyone has a amecube that isn't wedged into a computer and could measure the cube as it is shown there, I would be very happy. I'll hopefully e able to complete this over springbreak, vacations are when I get most of my work done. Otherwise school takes almost all of my time

By the way, anyone know where to get a good plastic case for this?

when I saw that photo I decided to start inmediatly the build of my gcP 2.0.

I cuarentrly owns another GC so IÂ´m happy

IÂ´m not remember where is spinoutÂ´s topic (those forums are big and the search tools sometimes doesnt helps a lot :S) someone know it?

IÂ´m cuarently am looking for the complete gc board pinout to the powerboard pinout.

as I can see in the picture there are only 4 wires required.

two yellow wires, one black and another red.

but I cant see correctly where them must be connected. in the powerboard.

I also have another questions.

Q1:

did you removed the gc connectors under the motherboard for get more free space? like the serial ports 1 and 2 , the power connector and the "hi speed port?"

Q2: did someone make longer the laser data wire (the one "thin" "orange" and with a lot of cables inside) I saw he made longer the red, brown
wires and the dvd spinner cable, but i think i will need make longer the big lazer orange data cable :S

I also cant see how you wired the white cables from the dvd spinner
