Screen Brightening Mod Won't Work

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Screen Brightening Mod Won't Work

Post by Super Mulletman »

To put it simply, I have what seems to be a newer model PS1 screen (LED modded: looks dark, but works fine), with a few different components and chip names, and while the component that needs to be bypassed is still present, nothing happens when I bypass it. No change. I know it's the right component; that area of the board still has the same layout. Is there another point where I could bypass another component that would have the same effect, or is there anything else I can do? Has anyone even had this issue? Help would be appreciated.

Wet your finger and touch parts of the PCB. Don't touch the backlight circuitry.
