I was reading (on yahoo) and saw this artical..how great is this another hand held that braggs that it can run emu's. I know nothing about it other than what it says in th artical/pic. Any one else know any thing?

There are many of these types of devices these days.

Good idea to use the solar panel, however as the article says, this adds lots of extra thickness to the system. I doubt it will be worth modding, and I wouldn't expect the emulation to be full-speed or anything like it. As a portable MP3 player for those people who like to go "out and about" it looks a very good player.

Why not just buy solar cells and make your own portable power box?

That actually sounds like an awesome idea.

My car charger isn't working, so maybe I'll just do that and let my Sansa stick out the window (unless UV rays can hit through the windsheild...)

Great idea, unless you live in the UK like me. All we have had here lately is rain, driving winds and dullness (not good for solar panels); mind you, our summer is likely to be rather hot!

I wonder how the components, especially the battery and the display will handle the long periods of heat from the sun that this unit will no doubt go through in a typical scenario.

And on the subject of alternately powered portable electronics. I have thought about making a shake powered GBA.
