A few months ago, a friend managed to get a free ps2 that had a DRE. We fixed the DRE, and it ran well for a couple of months. A couple of days ago, it started again, so he took it apart, and then said he'd fixed it, but the drive wouldn't open properly. Then it stopped completely. I went to take a look at it, and when I plugged it in, it powered on, but the tv flickered then stayed blank. I opened it up and straight away saw the ribbon cable was not connected to the drive. I reconnected this, but it still shows no picture on the screen and has no sound. Also, the laser tries to read the disc, but the motor doesn't spin. It is a model SCPH-30003. I have tried 2 different known working cables on two different Tv's.
Does it sound like a blown fuse? It has never had a modchip or any other modifications. What should I check?
