Yes it is nice to be able to put your projects INSIDE something isn't it? You know, to hold everything together so it doesn't flop around? Discuss the techniques here!
Thought it would be cool, if you molded your case. it can be done. Make a wood version first, make a mold. Pour mold. Tada case. This would allow for some original ideas. As well as easy screw post ect....
Actually this is not feasible as you would need an injection mold ot get good results. Most people prefer vacuum forming, then you just epoxy the screw posts.
It is the actual molding that is the problem. You make a good case like htis and I'll stand on my head and count to ten (Hopefully I won't regret saying that).

Show me a video of the molding process and a pic of the finished case and I will believe you. BTW I hope you knew I meant that actually melting the plastic and pouring it in a mold is what I am talking about, vacuum forming is easy.
pour molding with stuff like resins and crap is pretty easy but the molds are a bit more complicated to make and usually get broken in the process (but are easy to remake basing on the first casting) its the same as molding lead and stuff but with plastics instead

Ask jeroen, I don't mean make a plastic mold, I thought he meant make a case by melting standard plastic and pouring it in a mold.
Resins are easy to use and I would like ot see a case made by this method. I still don't think the melting plastic would work though. BTW Resins are commonly used in scale models and I have used them before. You can even use existing objects (glue them together) and make a mold that way (this saves you the trouble of having to make some parts of the mold), this method can allow you to make a franken case with the strength of a solid case and you can use bits form controllers, etc.
