GHIII first impressions

Post by ghosstt »

Well, went to gamestop today to play some GHIII. Played it on the 360 ( ill be getting it for wii). I would have to say its still the great GH we all love. Though the timings seem extremely different this time around. Maybe it was because i was standing.. i dont know, it was just wierd.

Is the flipper still the loudest most annoying thing on the planet? I swear, last time I tried the demo for Xbox 360, I literally couldn't hear the music over the noise of the flipper. Not cool.

I'm guessing you mean the strum bar? yes, its still pretty loud, nothing horrible though.

They've quieted it down A LOT though. Which is a good thing. Also, the fret buttons are quiet now too. Playing the new LP controller is a huge difference compared to the XPlorer. It changes the gameplay a ton. Also, my first impression is that it is easier than GH2. And TTFAF is probably nearly impossible on expert.

Well I actually played it a few days ago. It's pretty fun. It's not like its better for the Wii or anything, but the fact that Nintendo only people (like me) can get Guitar Hero, is a pretty big deal.

Also, the neck has 6 contacts on the bottom where it connects. Custom necks are going to be so easy to make! One is ground, and the rest are fret buttons! I see cool hacks in the future.

I heard the snappable neck is horrible. If you bend it forward a little, the contacts get disconnected.

Haven't had a problem with mine yet and I've easily played the game for over 10 hours by now. Yes, I know I have no life. :)

In fact, I think the new guitar is much more solidly constructed than the one that came with GH2. A very nice upgrade indeed!

I've been playing it for awhile now and that's never happened to me.

Well he's spoiled, so I'll take your word over his any day. (He has 4 computers, currently getting a new, upgraded 5th; 2 360s [one Elite, I believe], and a Wii, excluding all older systems)

its really bad... see my topic. you cant even tell by looking at it, but if the contacts aren't touching the green/A button wont work.

Yeah, went to Wally world today, saw some guy playing on easy, after he was done I picked up the controller and switched it to expert :)

I barely even heard the stummer, but yeah.

God, they had it set up on a HD-tv and it looked HORRIBLE!!!!
It was Jaggy central, the only thing that looked remotly good was the guitar neck that scrolled by with the frets on it.

Didn't have time to change video setting as people were watching me.

But yeah Unfortunalty my local video rental place all 3 copies of GH3 were rented out, so I had to settle for Rock the 80s which is pretty damn good, but I would never spend $50 on it, mabye $35-$40. 1 complaint about rock the 80s.........WTF only 1 buyable character and no extra outfits, and no extra songs.
