GBA SP screen revisions

I crushed the screen of my GBA SP, and ordered a replacement. As I found out, there are two revisions. If I understood everything correctly, my SP has an ags-001, and my replacement screen is an ags-101.
My SP is the model where you can turn off the screen. The replacement screen has two wires apart from the ribbon cable. The ribbon cable fits the connector. The wires are red and black, and I suspect they're for power, but at which voltage?
Is my screen of any use? Can the voltage needed be extracted from anywhere on the mainboard?

There shouldn't be any wires outside of the ribbon connector, no matter which model (and the back-lit model's screen has a different size connector). May I ask where you bought it? I'm wondering if it hasn't been modified.

This is how it looks:

As you can see on the page, even without knowing Swedish, is that there are two different models, but without any specification. And you can clearly see the wires on the picture.

Odd, that would make it a third party screen :/ At any rate, those wires may be power for the LED front lighting, in which case you would almost certainly have to solder it to the light switches' contacts. But don't take my word for it as proof alone- I could easily be wrong.

EDIT: Have you tried contacting the company selling them, and seeing if they know what the wires are there for?

Given what you can buy a s/hand GBA SP for I am surprised you didn't get one rather than a new screen. Never mind.
