C72 - Polarized 2200ÂµF Capacitor? (PAL)

Well, I just desoldered it because it's big and bulky, and I was about to wire it up, but then I tested the SNES without it and it worked just fine, so my question is:

What does it do/is it necressary in any way for the SNES to run (permanently)?

I'm not sure. I just rewired it. You could also replace it with more smaller caps (like 4 small ones)

Yeah, I'm probably gonna do that. It's just that if it's really not of any use, I could save space and weight by just leaving it out. After all, the Mini SNES has the solder joints for it too, but not the capacitor itself. (I've been doing some research!)

It's probably just some kind of filtering cap for the power supply. I doubt it's really needed for battery power.

BUt in that sense, its bigger then, one large one would be better.
