Broken Ribbon Tape

Do you think there is anything I can do? Maybe with a little soldering?

This is on a Gameboy Pocket, on the screen.

Sorry, I can't take none blurry pictures apparently.

Probably not. If you're talking about "ribbon CABLE"

If it's the connector on the board, re-solder it.

I'll need a picture to help you. If it's one of the ones that goes to the screen side, you'll need a microscope. If it's the brownish part before that, you can fix it.

I tried to fix it already, and I failed. I'll probably just buy a new gameboy. It's not like they cost a fortune.

You have nothing to lose - how about gently scraping the cable to the trace on both parts, if successful, stick a single strand of wire onto the traces with sticky tape (you can't solder onto this). It might work...

If it fails, as you say, they are cheap enough!

I already tried soldering it. I messed it up pretty badly.

Solder would have melted the plastic ribbon (as I am sure you experienced); that's why I suggested sticky tape...

Yeah I noticed the burns when I flipped it over. It was pretty retarded of me to try. Oh well, I'll know not to do the same on my next system.
