I need help with my computer....

Post by ValiantVenality »

Ok. I just got a brand new computer like a month ago. Its a really amazing computer. I have my sound and video hooked up to my TV. So heres what I need. For some odd reason everytime i try to play music or something nothing comes out of my TV speakers. Nothing is on mute or anythng. My one monster cable is hooked up right. Also, when I go to the speaker managment thing it says I can test the sound. And when I click on it, it plays the sound! So, either my computer is weird or i did something....... What is it? I really wannt to listen to music!!!!!!!

Did you try a pair of headphones? (This would rule out at least one variable.) Does your motherboard support surround sound? (The "play sound" button may send audio to all channels...)

It could be any of a number of problems...

Oh jeez, please tell me you didn't waste your money on Monster brand cables...

Detail your hookup. My setup consists of a splitter on the output of my soundcard splitting to both my PC speakers and my TV. The physical hookup will obviously help a lot in the troubleshooting.
