My NESp (Yobo NOAC)

Hi, everyone. I'm Adam, a new member but I've been viewing these forums for some time now.
I'll be attempting to make my NESp out of a Yobo and using a PSone LCD for the screen.

Supplies
Yobo FC Game Top Loader Console (Red/White) - $28.09 on eBay. [/]
PS One LCD Screen - $34.00 on eBay. [/]
NES Original Controller - [x]
Case plastic/enclosure - [x]

The Plan
Well, the wiring seems simple enough. Since the PSone LCD has RGB input(?) and the Yobo NES has RGB output(?), I can simple rewire the PSone LCD connection and I will have it setup.
I understand what I need to do to the Yobo itself, to get it down to one board; Rewire the controller ports (Something I am semi confused about myself, do the controllers only use 5/6 pins?), the power/reset, the power, audio and video.
To get the Psone LCD to work, I need to fix a connection the previous owner messes up (He was wiring it up for his computer, so he pulled out the last five wires of the video connection, in the process, making the screen useless for me until I re-solder them directly to the board. Which is looking to be a hard task for me to solder such small pins.), rewire the audio jack, remove some of the larger unneeded components and hope it all works.

Oh, I almost forgot. I have to de-solder the 72 pins for the NES cartridge connection, then solder 72 wires to the old connections and the other ends of the wires to the cartridge connection, so that I can have the games slide in vertically.

The case...something I have given much thought, but still have no clue what I'll do. I feel I will use the bondo/sand method...but I will also use a case enclosure, so that I have something to work off of. I would like some recommendations for what to do. I may even try vacuum forming, I really do not know. Vacuum forming looks really nice...but only when done correctly.

So how is your progress? Sorry about not commenting sooner - I just noticed this today. It sounds like you're on the right track and have chosen a pretty good first project. Anything you're getting stuck on or any progress pics you can share?

Cool. I just bought a YOBO on Ebay for 10.00 bucks. Mine is red/white (I'm haggling for the shipping now) and I'm gonna do what I can to get a PS1 screen for around the same price.

What about your YOBO? whats it look like? and what are you gonna do for a power pack?

I'm planning on storing everything under my bed until I get some more money and can buy batteries.

I'm gonna get some rechargeable batteries for a Video camera but I haven't figured out exactly what kind yet. You?

I have a very vague idea for the case. We have this old first aid kit, that I think will make an ideal size even if I just use it for measurements and make a wooden one.

I have some labeling done on the Yobo (Red/white), it's just on the AV/power board. I've done a little planning on what I need to do...not much of an update.

I did some testing on the Yobo with one of the PS2 LCDs I got on ebay, but stopped when it started to smoke.
I'm actually planing on working on the controls today, just to get a feel for it.

NO! No, no, no.
I have two USED and BROKEN Ps2 LCDs from ebay, they work, but have lines running through the screen. I had a piece on the back grounded accidentally, which shouldn't of been grounded, or something like that.
I just tested and both my audio and video looks like it will work...It sounds great without an amp, surprisingly.
Now, I'm going to test the power, and maybe the controller, if I can find a way to wire that up...

if you need to solder accurately, get a helping hand. Tape it to the damn table. That will help you so much.
