Dreamcast Power Question...

Guys, I'm dreaming of making a DREAMCASTp but I have a question:

How is power regulated for Dreamcast and what volts does it need to work?

Any schematics or help appreciated...

Ive heard that you can use a Gamecube PSU.

It works well with a gamecube psu, or with a picopsu, I personally use a picopsu since it's smaller. You'll need a regulator to drop the 12v to 8v for the screen if you use a psone screen.

Okay I know that this topic is old, but pretty much they are all old and if this topic is still on the first page there's obviously not much activity in the DC section.

My question is pretty much if I take a Gamecube PSU out and put it striaght into a DC it'll work? Does it run smoother? Less heat? Any other advantages besides smaller?
