So, anybody like the pcspeaker?

Post by totokan »

The pc speaker is the ultimate mischief tool. By writing a simple c script, I can have the computer play a continuous 2500 hertz tone, or loop from 0 to 2000 and back infinitely. It's a fun toy, but does anybody know of any legitimate uses for it in the modern pc? Almost all new motherboards have a led array on the back that replaces it in terms of error detection at boot.
Also, a link to the c code I <s>butchered</s> wrote, 'readnotes'. It takes input from a text file called "overature" currently, but that's only in windows. I have it commented about it's use in other OS's, since I originally programmed it in freeBSD.

Shhh! I'm not officially back yet.
