Dreamcast Portable worklog - new design plan :D

Post by PeglegJimmy »

The brand new design that I'm probably going to stick to is here and here.

Oh and here is a design I would love to make, I would only make it as a new case after the whole thing worked well, since I always end up losing my cash ;) Link and link

Ya paper cutouts are ownage. I have cutouts of the Dreamcast boards since I don't have a spare DC yet to just have the parts out to stare at, yes they are to scale if you were gona ask, I traced um from my parts :P

Here is concept art that is oldest.

I have decided to start a DC portable, seeing as my laptop never was even started, and this I have some work done already, even if it was the easy part. I would do more, but I need to sell my things that I put in the trading post to get my screen and new DC.

Here's pictures of the work I did so far, and yes my dremel job sucks, I need to sand down the edges.

Ya my camera sucks.

I dremeled off parts of the controller's traces, and cut off the wires I didn't want, and the controller is a Quantum pad.

Please take a look at my trading post items.

Link to my stuff I'm selling.

I guess I should have posted this in the last post since it isn't that urgent , but would tact switches work so I can use the original triggers? That part on the dreamcast controller confuses me greatly... My controller board is going to be a franken-board! part dc board, for the buttons, part tact-switch, part quantum fighter pad... Part I forgot to take my pills this morning  (jk bout the pills... or am I...)

With a quantum fighter pad you can use tactile switches for the triggers if thats what you're wondering. Sorry your post was a bit hard for me to understand what you wanted t know.

Sorry I guess I should have made it easier to read :P But that answered my question that I can use the real triggers :) Now its time to make some cash, and get a DC with an original controller.

I think this project should turn out pretty good as long as my case works out nicely(Probably won't but this is my first case, technically first portable too but I know DC hardware really well, been taking it apart since 99' I hope I can do my super special design that looks like a DC controller, probably to much to hope for in a first case, 1st designs probably to hard almost.)
