lighting engraved plastic

i am going to be making an engraving on some clear acrylic and i need to know how to light it up. i dont have much money at the moment so if their is any cheap way to do it (like leds) that would be great.

oh and another thing, i just got the dremel stylus and i have to say it is the best dremel i have used

If you file down an LED (or notch it) so it sits flush against the acrylic, the areas you engrave should glow. Maybe stick two LEDs on each side of the plastic? If you have the money, get some tri-color LEDs and rig them up to a switch so you can change its color. (Or if you really want to get fancy, a controller and some of those many-color LEDs like <a href="http://www.tripoint.org/kevtris/Project ... l">this</a>.) Then frame it so you don't see the LEDs.
