Odd Switches (Help Please)

Post by Murdok09 »

Upon dismantling my Gamecube, I found a fair of odd switches located on the plastic frame of the disk drive. They move one direction but not both, are on a brown board and are connected to the disk drive board. Check by "Portable Gamecube" thread in PS2, etc. to see what I mean (down on the page -- picture). Could someone tell me what these do or are for?

those are the lid position sensors, they tell the cube when the lid is open or closed

Thanks! If they are disconnected will it register as open, closed, or nothing?

Open, I believe. If you are going to remove them, jump the two pads the switch was connected to, thus making the GameCube think the lid is always down.
