Avatar and Signature Rules

Post by JackFrost22 »

Yes the thread where we post our suggestions on the rules for avatars and signatures. I thought who better to start it then someone who lost his avatar at one point.

The best overall rule I can think of: keep it PG, like the rest of the board.

NOTHING political, religious, or otherwise offensive. Real simple.
I don't think religion has a place on the forums, it's too easy to make someone mad.
Don't get me wrong I am a christian and would love to talk about my faith but I don't think we should discuss it here.

Relign, talk about whatever you feel is right, though you need not share oppinions about others.
I'm the man, if you don't think so, you're wrong.

No Linux Chicks?!

Seriously though we know the board needs to stay PG as Ben asked. When I saw the title of the thread I though it was more about whats the purpose of "your" avatar and/or signature.

Ben kind of hinted at a dislike of religious discussions. Not as much as he did politics, but I don't think he's keen on controversy pulling the board apart.

Except it's not simple. Not at all. As we just saw, most people aren't offended by mildly religious avatars and sigs, so saying nothing offending is impossible, since people are offended by different things.
I have more to add, but I need to go, I'll continue my thoughts later.

I personally don't see anything wrong with the linux chicks, they aren't posing in any sexually suggestive way and their attire is not suggestive either, but if you don't want them here, then I'll keep them away from here, as long as I can have my Gravestone! :P

Jack, your Sub Zero avatar is very kewl, have that up which you had when I first joined
