N64 Power LED swap

Post by TheOnlyOneHeFears »

Yes, in my continued vein of cosmetic mods which have no real value or point, but looks fairly attractive, I give you...A GREEN N64 POWER LED!!!

*Anticlimax of the century*

Anyway, yeah, the title says it all. Unlike my GC mods, I'm less inclined to do much with the N64, as it seems to break if you so much as breathe on it. Plus it was my first console, so for sentimental reasons, I'd rather not mess with it too much.

Enough rambling, pictures.

The last one is in the dark, but the pic didn't turn out as well as the others. Also notice the Zelda decal, which is about 9 years old :P I got it from N64 Magazine, which was in about 1998. Man, time flies when your modding/breaking assorted video games consoles.

Comments/criticisims/death threats/people selling double glazing are welcome as always!

Cheers :) Yeah, the decal makes it kind of exclusive, they're pretty much non-existant now.

You're right, it's actually glue stuff from a car sticker that was on the front for some reason. When I saw it I was like

WHYISTHEREAGODDAMCARSTICKERONMYGODDAMN64JEWEL!

:lol:

So I ripped it off, with extreme prejudice, leaving the glue gunk behind. Trouble was, I didn't have enough time to clean it yesterday, so today I'll probably give the case a once over with some rubbing alcohol and some Goo Gone. Cheers for the comments guys :)

Why not CAREFULLY peel off the paper stuck on the N64 (decal), use a graphics program on your computer, and print out a new decal onto an A4 sticky label? You could then cut out the shape you need, re-attach it to the N64 and it would look much better! (the existing one has edges frayed and lifted on the pic).

I cleaned it today, and it looks so much better. But no pics. You can imagine what it looks like :lol:

@bacteria

That's a very good idea, but I tried taking the decal off, and it almost ripped, and left a load of gunk on the N64, so I think I'm going to have to leave it in its slightly battered state. Hey, it looks vintage that way :P

I have an N64 case doing nothing, if you want it (front and/or back), PM me with an offer (final price will be offer price, plus postage at cost price of course). Payment by PayPal! I actually have 2 available, but one I need to extract the cart holder part and the N64 emblem from the case for my mod (finishing touches, when I get to that stage), so one is available if you need it.

That's cool of you to offer, but I'm broke at the moment, so no can do. Plus, the decal is pretty much OK, apart from the frayed edges and general wear and tear. I'll keep your offer in mind though :)
