Need help with battery for Ps2 portable

Need help on how to hook up a battery to the older fatter Ps2s and also what type of battery i need to get.

Get a standard 12V battery, get out the PSU, and put 78XX or LM111X for the different power lines.

alright but where do i connect the acctual lines and what is 78XX or LM111X
