Quick Question....

Post by Skiggy »

Hi, two things. First, could anyone link me the posts on this forum about making a mobile pc, I can't find them  . Also, in a computer is the ghz directly related to the power consumption? ie: Would a pentium 4 1.4 ghz (just kind of making up these numbers) use a less power then a pentium 4 2.4ghz?

Links to mobile PC attempts:

As for MHz relation on power, more MHz=more power needed, pending the other factors are the same. Other factors include: core design (a Pentium M will be faster and consume less energy than a P4 at the same speed), process (smaller=better, 65nm takes less energy than a 90nm process processor), voltage, and more I can't think of right now.

I would love to use pentium M for that reason, but I cannot find a motherboard that would accept a pentium M. Also, do you think adding a low performance graphics card (32mb to 64mb range) to the motherboard for a portable pc would take up too much power?
