Freaking piece of crap HIPGEAR!!!

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Freaking piece of crap HIPGEAR!!!

Post by CronoTriggerfan »

Okay, I'm seriously about to punch a baby. Yeah, that mad. Every FREAKING time I buy one of these damn HipGear screens, the damn orange ribbon cable makes the screen all fuzzy. It has to be in EXACTLY the right position for it to function correctly, and it only stays that way for about 3 seconds! People have told me I just had a "bad unit" the last 2 times this has happened, but this is time #3, and I don't think that's the case. What the hell is up with this thing?!? Anyone know how to fix it?

You just need to go with the 2.5" Lcd screens from Ebay. They work perfect and look great :)

I actually grabbed one up just last week, and I must agree, they're simply astounding! :D I would definitely sub that screen in for the HipGear, but in this case, it's just not possible, as the case has already been designed to fit the HipGear specifically. Oh well, next time!

Are you taking apart the clamp for the cable when you took it apart, and did you push it back in when you replaced the cable? Thats all that comes to mind for me...

They all come from Honk Kong. It's about $65-70 shipped.
